Can McCain bring his party together?

The increasing attacks on McCain from conservatives this week raises the question once again whether McCain can bring his party together. He needs a big night to put all that chatter to bed.

I've been struck by the number of Republicans I know who say they will never support McCain. The big story on the GOP side this week may end up being McCain's struggle to take control of his Party, as he will not only struggle to bring along his base but he will have to get the Washington GOP - Bush, and the GOP Congress - to follow him. Early signs are not so good, and may spell big trouble for the GOP later this year.
