There are several tidbits of information to share tonight, and I am happy to start blogging again. I know that several of you have missed me.
Today the WSJ printed an article by José de Córdoba titled "Democrats woo Cuban-American voters" that focuses on the three contested congressional races in south Florida including the one that is being sought by my predecessor Joe Garcia. The article notes that this is the first major contest to Florida's Cuban trifecta. Córdoba focuses primarily on the internal shifts occurring within the Cuban community in Florida, and how these races provide a clear picture of the two separate factions of the Cuban community.
"The Democratic Party is mounting its first serious challenge in years against Republican domination of Cuban-American voters in South Florida. The fight could affect politics in the battleground state as well as U.S. relations with Cuba."
NDN has been engaged in educating and mobilizing Hispanic voters in Florida for the past several election cycles and maintains that there is significant shift among Cuban voters increasing support for Democratic candidates. Our research has also shown that the overall Hispanic voting population is trending Democratic. These are exciting times in Florida, as they are undergoing a dramatic realignment in cultural and electoral trends.
In a separate publication, Bloomberg News printed an article by Hans Nichols titled "McCain Plea to Hispanics Dismays Anti-Immigration Republicans." NDN president, Simon Rosenberg, was quoted in the article reaffirming that McCain showed cowardice during the immigration reform debate in the US Senate.
McCain is "starting from an enormous deficit," said Simon Rosenberg, president of NDN, a Democratic advocacy group in Washington.
While acknowledging that McCain has a better brand than other Republicans, Democrats said he wounded himself when he conceded in a Jan. 30 Republican debate that he would no longer vote for the immigration bill he sponsored in 2006 with Senator Edward Kennedy, a Massachusetts Democrat.
"John McCain was once a champion of immigrants," said Rosenberg, "but he walked away from his own bill."
I have discussed several times on this blog the growing problem that McCain will have in his presidential campaign as he struggles to shore up his support among conservatives in his party while trying to build a coalition that will get him elected in November. McCain will not be able to satisfy both constituencies, and will have to make a decision on which constituency is more important to his White House ambitions. Historically, McCain had enjoyed tremendous support among Hispanics in Arizona and championed immigration reform. However, throughout his Primary campaign McCain abandoned immigrant rights groups and Hispanics, and walked away from his own bill devastating millions of Hispanic families. McCain will try to refer to his record prior to the this time period to remind Hispanics about his efforts in the Hispanic community, but one thing is for sure the McCain of yesteryear in not the McCain of today. There are very few words that are more difficult to overcome with Hispanics than betrayal and hypocrite. McCain has the burden of overcoming both.
Finally, Adam Segal from the Hispanic Voter Project at Johns Hopkins University released a study that states that the Democratic candidates for President have set spending records for Spanish language advertising.
The two leading Democratic presidential candidates spent millions of dollars on Spanish-language television ads, setting records for individual and combined Democratic expenditures in a presidential primary season. By combining original research, interviews and news reports, the Hispanic Voter Project at Johns Hopkins University estimates that the Democratic presidential candidates spent more money - at least $4 million - on Spanish-language television advertising this cycle, outpacing total spending in 2000 and total primary spending in 2004.

You're right.
Andres, Dave and I missed your blog posts.
Democrats
Then maybe Hispanic's memory of the Clinton years will reach as far back as the Welform Reform Act in 1996, in which the Clinton's through Hispanics under the bus in a decidedly anti-immigrant bill. Is there any doubt in your mind now that Clinton would do the same if she had an opportunity to get a healthcare reform package passed? Clinton's concern for Hispanics only goes as far as the leverage they provide in getting her other policy priorities passed.
And Segal's work may show record spending on the part of Democrats, but thats not very difficult to do, since Republicans have outspent Democrats in Hispanic ads over the last two elections.
Juan McCain
Juan McCain, a "man" who understands "freedom" and the price HISPANICS and "ALL" other immigrants have paid FOR FREEDOM and FREEDOM OF SPEECH. He has had a taste of that in his past; therefore, he feels more for "ALL" immigrants rights. As read above, he didn't decide on the Immigration Bill before; That's because the Lord God Almighty himself sent him at this very pivotal moment for the Hispanics and All Immigrants. The way it works is that when he didn't sign off on that "one" Bill; Thank GOD...because this "one" that He can sign off on-Will be Ours, for "All" Immigrants. He is the Leader to Lead for "ALL" Immigrants. He will do for "All" Hispanics because "HE" can- himself with us alongside. He doesn't forget for one minute what Hispanics and other immigrants go through as we live and breathe each day. All soldiers take an oath to "Protect and Defend All Foreign and Domestic "regardless of race, creed, color or religion". I was a Hillary supporter just like Ms. Betty Suarez, from Ugly Betty - Mr. Ricky Martin, the singer, and All Other Hispanics stepping up to the plate for "All" Immigrants. Because we knew Hillary; Americans were willing to give Bill another chance knowing he lied to "All" nationwide. But that's not the case now; Situations change-mothers, wives, husbands, fathers- everyone knows that situations change -Hillary's not even on the ticket, a big change. Never was, according to Obama. JOHN MCCAIN LEADS US FROM THE FRONT OF THE FORMATION WITH A NEW BILL; ONE WHICH WILL UNITE "ALL THE IMMIGRANTS" REGARDLESS OF RACE,CREED,COLOR OR RELIGION.
THANK GOD, THANK JESUS CHRIST, OUR LORD AND SAVIOR.
CHRISTIANSOLDIER
John McCain
John McCain lets the people's voices be heard. It's time to ask Senator McCain the questions the people have and "let him be heard", not just give up on him and the freedom for everyone which he has stood for, for us.
"So Help Me God"
All soldiers pledge to defend the economy, to defend healthcare, to defend the environment, to defend Immigration Rights for "All" Immigrants from all over the World, not just some, to defend and protect the rights of every human being to have "FREEDOM". Soldiers have always Protected "people", that's what we do best. When we see a homeless on the street needing help...we see one of our own. When we see Immigrants from foreign soils who need help, we don't see colors...regardless of race or gender, we don't see colors...we see "people needing one another". We stretch our hands out to help "all" people who need Protecting. That's just our instinct, we've lived it, we live by that, yet still. Senator MCCAIN has lived by these words as each soldier has raised thier right hand to Protect All The People "SO HELP ME GOD". Senator McCain stated he doesn't want WAR; You can take that to the bank. Our War is to Protect the Economy and the Environment and to "Protect ALL THE PEOPLE". Senator Ingrid Betancourt said it best. A woman much to be Respected, Praised and Honored for her endless efforts to say: "Let My People GO"...so to speak. She stands up to defend ALL the people. She said: "Stand Up to Defend the Freedom We Have -Because We Have The Freedom To Defend Others". She stood up to those who were kidnapping "People". Senator Ingrid Betancourt, A Woman Of Honor, A Woman Who Stands Up For What Is Right....For Freedoms Sake, Stands Fearless in the Eyes of Evil. That doesn't mean she wants War; That means just what she said: "Defend the Freedom Of Others". This is done intellectually, using every means of Support. Defend a civilian, Defend a Soldier...Defend All Immigrants, Freedom is still the same whichever way we look at it. John MCCAIN STANDS FOR THIS FREEDOM. A man of wisdom and honor.
Language Barriers
It is admirable to hear a man or a woman speak different languages. Several teachers are already trained in French, Spanish, or English. Soldiers are trained linguists (translators of words). They are already teachers. Leaders with leadership traits. Our teachers.
Questions have risen?
Pertaining to Senator John McCain.
Independents Seek the Truth
Some news medias distort the truth by showing erroneous information through videos which lead the people astray from Truth.
Independents seek to find:
Our neighbors are Katrina survivors. Every morning throughout the day, Dad, Mom and the children greet everyone with "Hello Neighbor" and smiling faces, until we speak of Katrina disaster. The smiles turn to tears and the fear in their eyes, to anger. This day FEMA finally came through for them: "Equality for all comes from a spiritual verse in the book of the HOLY BIBLE:
"But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality:" (II Corinthians 8:14)
Students seeking the Truth, have found the Light in the words:
"We can become a beacon of light...again".
